Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Alwar & Heritage Exploration
Your journey commences with a warm welcome as you arrive in Alwar, a city steeped in history and natural beauty. Our representative will ensure a smooth transfer to your comfortable accommodation, allowing you time to refresh and settle in. Post-lunch, immerse yourself in the rich legacy of Alwar starting with the magnificent Alwar City Palace, a sprawling complex that beautifully fuses Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. Inside, explore the Government Museum, home to an exquisite collection of Mughal and Rajput paintings, ancient manuscripts, and historical artifacts that tell tales of a bygone era.
Next, we proceed to the stunning Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri, a striking red sandstone and white marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh and his queen, Moosi Maharani. Its multi-tiered structure, delicate carvings, and serene surroundings offer a picturesque glimpse into royal Rajput aesthetics. As the afternoon light softens, we ascend to the formidable Bala Quila (Alwar Fort), perched atop a hill. This ancient fort, one of Rajasthan's oldest, offers breathtaking panoramic views of Alwar city and the surrounding Aravalli hills. The fort's grandeur and strategic location provide a perfect backdrop for stunning photographs and contemplation of its storied past.
Evening will be at leisure. Consider exploring the local markets of Alwar, renowned for their traditional Rajasthani bangles, jewellery, and the famous 'Alwar ka Mawa' (milk cake). For dinner, we recommend trying a local restaurant for an authentic Rajasthani thali, featuring specialties like Dal Baati Churma, Gatte ki Sabzi, and delectable local sweets. This immersive culinary experience is a perfect end to your first day.
Day 2: Wilderness Safari at Sariska & Rustic Charm
After a hearty breakfast, we check out from our Alwar accommodation and journey towards the renowned Sariska Tiger Reserve, a mere short drive away. Upon arrival, you will check into your resort, ideally located to provide a serene wilderness experience. Sariska is not just a tiger reserve; it's a diverse ecosystem encompassing dry deciduous forests, rocky landscapes, and grassy plains, making it a haven for various flora and fauna.
The highlight of the day is undoubtedly the thrilling wildlife safari in Sariska National Park. As you venture deep into the sanctuary in a specially designated safari vehicle, keep an eye out for majestic tigers (though sightings are subject to luck and patience), leopards, striped hyenas, jackals, sambar deer, chital, nilgai, and a myriad of bird species. The park is also home to ancient temples and ruins, adding a unique historical dimension to your wildlife adventure. The safari provides an excellent opportunity for wildlife photography and an unforgettable encounter with nature.
Post-safari, return to your resort for relaxation. The evening can be spent enjoying the tranquil surroundings, perhaps by the poolside or engaging in conversations about the day's wildlife encounters. Some resorts in the area also offer cultural programs or nature walks. Dinner will be served at your resort, often featuring local ingredients and Rajasthani flavours, allowing you to unwind amidst the peaceful ambience of the wilderness.
Day 3: Neemrana Fort Palace & Architectural Wonders
Following a leisurely breakfast, we depart from Sariska and head towards Neemrana, home to one of India's most iconic heritage hotels – the Neemrana Fort Palace. This drive through the Rajasthan countryside offers glimpses of rural life and changing landscapes. Upon arrival in Neemrana, prepare to be awestruck by the grandeur of the Neemrana Fort Palace. This 15th-century fort, meticulously restored, now stands as a magnificent heritage hotel, offering an unparalleled stay experience.
Check into your unique fort accommodation and take some time to explore the sprawling levels, courtyards, and gardens of this architectural marvel. The fort's terraced gardens, swimming pools, and breathtaking views provide endless opportunities for exploration and relaxation. You can opt for a leisurely walk through its various wings, each with its own story and charm. Lunch will be a regal affair within the fort premises, offering a taste of royal hospitality.
In the afternoon, venture out to discover the impressive Neemrana Baori, a colossal 17th-century step-well. This nine-storeyed architectural wonder with its numerous steps and intricate design is a testament to the advanced engineering and aesthetic sensibilities of its builders. It’s a fascinating site for photography and to appreciate ancient water harvesting techniques. The structure offers a cool retreat and a peaceful atmosphere. You can also explore the small local markets near the fort for some unique handicrafts or souvenirs. The evening at Neemrana Fort Palace often includes cultural performances, making your stay even more memorable. Dinner will be a gourmet experience within the fort's exquisite dining settings.
Day 4: Leisurely Departure from Neemrana
Savour your final breakfast amidst the regal surroundings of Neemrana Fort Palace. Depending on your flight or train schedule, you may have some leisure time to enjoy the fort's amenities, perhaps a final dip in one of its pools or a quiet moment admiring the panoramic views. This is an opportune moment to reflect on the incredible journey you've undertaken, from the historical depths of Alwar to the wild heart of Sariska and the palatial grandeur of Neemrana.
Our representative will assist with your smooth transfer from Neemrana to your designated departure point (Delhi/Jaipur airport or railway station), marking the end of your "Royal Allure: Alwar - Sariska - Neemrana Expedition." You depart with cherished memories, a deeper understanding of Rajasthan's heritage, and stories to tell. We trust this journey has been a truly enriching experience for you and your companions.
